Alwaght- Israeli regime's army is using an informal rule to shoot Palestinian protestors in their legs and knees in order to cripple them, the Middle East Eye news site reported.
The security forces of Tel Aviv regime have very vague rules engagement when it comes to Palestinians but the number of such young protestors crippled in last year suggests the forces are intentionally aiming their legs and knees to cripple them.
The forces have shot at least 83 Palestinians in this year when “most were shot in the legs or knees,” BADIL Resource Center reported.
According to the report, the problem is more prominent in West Bank witnessing an increase in the “systematic targeting of the Palestinians” since the start of the year.
Israeli Army spokesman have declined to elaborate or their rules of engagement in a contact by the writer, just saying they have clear rules on the matter. The rules say forces should use “minimum force to neutralize” the situation, however such force could be a threat or a shoot to kill.
Many of the crippled protestors are in Dheisha refugee camp which is raided almost weekly by Tel Aviv forces leading to violent clashes between the two sides. The camp is home to more than 15 thousand refugees.
According to the BADIL report, on the three occasions that Israeli forces raided the camp between the end of July and mid-August, “18 youth aged between 14 and 27 were shot in their legs”, eight directly in a knee and several more in both legs.
Number of young Palestinians suffering disabling leg wounds has increased considerably and many victims are blaming Israeli officer known as 'Captain Nidal', the report says. He is the commander in three Palestinian camps.
